The beginnings

New Hope Foursquare church was birthed out of a vision placed in the hearts of Steve and Melissa Sewell. They responded to God's call upon their life to leave their home in Nebraska and the church they had been pastoring for 6 years to plant a new work in St. Joseph, Missouri.

As Jesus is exalted in worship and teaching, God has visited our congregation in marvelous and un-expected ways, especially with a ministry to families. To accommodate them, we began to open our gymnasium for basketball,volleyball leagues, the south side poling place, a Red Cross Shelter, a city of St. Joseph emergency shelter/center, and various other events tournaments, and other ways to encourage them. Today it is known as the "foursquare gym". Presently the gym is being used by a good friend of ours, Coach Mike Musser (go Cardinals!) He runs an amazing indoor baseball training facility and basketball court called The Sandlot. Click here for more information.
